to be honored

Sister of Mercy Maryanne Stevens, president of the College of Saint Mary in Omaha, was recently chosen as one of four individuals to be inducted into the 2010 Ak-Sar-Ben Court of Honor.
The ceremonies will take place at the annual Ak-Sar-Ben Coronation and Scholarship Ball Oct. 9 at the Qwest Center in Omaha.

scholarship winners

Five students from the Archdiocese of Omaha recently were named by the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association (FCSLA) as scholarship award winners.
Matthew Kaipust of Omaha received a college graduate award for $1,750. Kaipust graduated from the Austin Law School at the University of Texas.

The new stadium at Creighton Preparatory High School in Omaha is now named after one of the school's graduates.
Creighton Prep dedicated the new stadium to Don Leahy, a well known Omaha sports figure, and his wife, Carmen, during the annual Blue-White game Aug. 20.
