Omaha delegates attend
international gathering
By CATHOLIC VOICE
Notre Dame Sister Margaret Hickey recently was elected as the first U.S. representative on the general leadership team of the Notre Dame Sisters at an international gathering in the Czech Republic.
She will reside in the United States, but travel to the Czech Republic several times a year to attend team meetings.
"I am humbled and excited about my new role on the general leadership team. Our United States province has experienced many of the same situations our European sisters are now experiencing: diminishment, use of properties, and care for our senior sisters," Sister Hickey said. "Hopefully my presence on the council will be of some assistance to the congregation in the next six years."
Others who attended the gathering were Omaha Notre Dame Sisters Mary Kay Meagher, Rita Ostry and president of the Omaha Province, Celeste Wobeter.
